We are of the opinion that the COBALT DA is the perfect integration of a (phono) pre-power amplifier and DAC, with which the sound quality of the applied AXIGN technology comes out perfectly. We will also make that quality available for setups that – for different reasons – are preferred to a separate pre-power amplifier combination.

There are music lovers who do not want to give up their tube pre-amplifier that just give the extra warmth of sound they are looking for. But, separate power amplifiers are a good alternative for movie lovers with a home theatre and a multi channel AV receiver and who aim at the best possible sound for their movie pictures. Separate power amplifiers are also perfect for Bi-amplifying in order to have even more control of the speakers. Various applications of a separate power amplifier are, for instance, setups with room correction, multi room audio systems, install base audio and pro audio monitor amplification.

Separate power amplifiers and mono blocks of renowned labels are often impressively large and heavy; they produce a lot of heat, take a long time of heating up and use much energy consumption. That’s all out-of-date and can be disadvantageous for professional use as well.

Therefore, we have developed a series of power amplifiers based on our revolutionary COBALT module (please, click here for more information). These Stereo Power Amplifiers / Mono Power Amplifiers share – but for power supply and power – precisely the same specifications as the COBALT DA with a fixed gain so that they can operate straight off a (tube) preamplifier or AV receiver.

The most important advantages of the COBALT SPA/MPApower amplifiers compared to the more traditional technology of power amplifiers are:

*The ULTRA power supply option provides twice as much power. This option is a standard accessory in the mono version.

** The balanced XLR-option makes the COBALT- power amplifier also suitable for PRO AUDIO setups.

Upgrading your current setup

Modular design

Thanks to the modular design the COBALT DA amplifiers can be converted into a COBALT SPA or COBALT MPA at a small reward. It is also possible to have a COBALT SPA upgraded to a COBALT MPA in future, when you want to switch a stereo power amplifier to two mono power amplifiers. A COBALT SPA or COBALT MPA can also be converted into a COBALT DA with built-in DAC and preamplifier at a later stage.
